Snow Day

We were lucky enough to have a snow day!! To make it worthwhile, we went sledding. It felt good to let loose and face plant into the snow.

A Wise Old Owl Sat on an Oak; the More He Saw, the Less He Spoke

Phoebe.
There are none too happy in the world but beings who enjoy freely a vast horizon.
Without a destination point, there are no favorable winds.
In the long run we have found that silent films are full of sound. Inaudibly free.
The secret of life is enjoying the passing of time. Nobody knows how we got to the top of the hill, but since we're on our way down, we might as well enjoy the ride.

The Soil and the Sky is the Canvas of those Who Speak to the Wind

Lily.
Bold, outspoken, artist.
She's got the devil in her heart
But her eyes they tantalize
She's gonna tear your heart apart
Oh, her lips they really thrill me

I'll take my chances
For romance is so important to me
She'll never hurt me, she won't desert me
She's an angel sent to me

She's got the devil in her heart
No no, this I can't believe

We Are All Something, but None of Us Are Everything

Elizabeth.
No question is so difficult to answer as that to which the answer is obvious.

A Route of Many Roads Leading from Nowhere to Nothing

Meredith.
Getting ready to ride my painted pony out into the vast plains of the wild wild west.
Not afraid to take a chance, risk it all, as long as I find happiness in the breeze.
"Take to the highway won't you lend me your name
Your way and my way seem to be one and the same
Mamma don't understand it
She wants to know where I've been
I'd have to be some kind of natural born fool
To want to pass that way again
But I could feel it
On a country road"

Happiness is Nothing More that Good Health and a Bad Memory

Bernadette.
Be happy go lucky or be a slap happy fool. Life is way too important a thing to ever talk seriously about.

The Trick to Wandering, is Forgetting Your Footsteps in the Snow

One movie that we love and are inspired by is the British film, St. Trinian's. While about an anarchist ladies college, the girls each play their own role, and distinguish themselves by their uniforms. Using this inspiration, the five of us put on our good ol' plaid wool skirts and meandered into the forest for a photoshoot.

The Little Things

Have you ever noticed the little things in life? Ferris Bueller once said, "Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it." Trust me, it's true. I took a trip to Santa Barbara over Thanksgiving Break, and saw my great-grandparents old house. I had never really thought about my great-grandparents, because I barely even knew my grandparents, but I learned so much in just one day. It was this one day out of the thousands that I have already lived, that gave me a new understanding and a new perspective on my history and my family. This flower was one hiding in the ravine next to my great-grandparents house and I found it when I was sitting on the stone path winding from the house through the ravine. It was alone, surrounded by buds, basking in the beautiful sunlight. It's just a flower, but it's vivid in color and the texture is apparent with tiny bugs crawling on the petals. That's not something you see or think about everyday. I find that the little things in life are what make life interesting. Look around and notice something new in something that you see everyday. Look at the moon on a clear night, you see the man in the moon, but look around the moon, it radiates bright light illuminating the sky. I bet you rarely pay attention to that. Open your eyes and see the world anew each day.

Perception of Time

Because the past is only a memory and the future has not occurred, the past and future only exist in our minds. This leaves the present. However, the duration of the present is subject to the individual. The length of a minute heavily depends on the inner clock of the person, the action of the person, and the changing thought process of the person. It is suggested that people are aware of time not through our five senses, but rather by our thought process and its changing pattern. Because the past and future only exist in our minds, they are subject to our perception of the events of those tenses. Our memories are obviously distorted by our perception of events, but so is our future. The future is a picture, sequence of events that is made up of our individual fantasies and fears. Once the future becomes a reality, it is readily a memory, depending on the duration of its present existence. Because of this, our failures, fears, and worst memories merely exist in our minds. They do not account for anything but the memory. Time dictates our lives. However, time only exists in our minds. If time only exists in our minds, then does our whole existence merely reside in our minds?

Sayid = Jacob

???????????

Think about it, the man in black was able to use John Locke's (as well as many other people's bodies) so it makes since that when Sayid died someone (aka Jacob) could inhabit his body.

129 days to go

129 days. Graduation.
It seems farther away then ever.
This is my future!!!!!!!!!

The Sun Rises as Slowly as You Walk

days sometimes seem to meld together creating a continuum of memories and moments that are poignant in your head. that is what this time right now currently feels like. there is no stop or end point of time, it is just one big melting pot of laughs, tears, silence and the good times. that is what is most important. it feels nice not to be able to distinguish times or days- there are just moments. that is what i want this whole thing to be about. to capture the moments that make us who we are. there is no time or date, just a jumble of pictures, thoughts, random happenings that somehow define us.

Life: It's a Little Crazy Sometimes

Life is just a chance to grow a soul.

The four of us go to high school together at an all-girls' Catholic school. Yes, we wear those plaid skirts. We are all incredibly different, but share a lot in common, too. We love fashion, music, outdoors, each other, and good times. I guess this blog is about figuring out the world which we don't live in and stepping forth to follow our dreams. It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark, and we're wearing sunglasses. Hit It.
